Service Deployment

This document describes what you need to prepare to deploy backend services at Buzzvil.

Guidelines

The process for deploying services to Kubernetes at Buzzvil is shown below.

Although requirements vary by project, a typical backend workload deployment pipeline requires the following:

• Create a Docker image
• Write a Helm chart
• Configure a Spinnaker pipeline

Creating a Docker Image

See the Docker guide for an overview of writing a Dockerfile and building Docker container images.

Writing a Helm Chart

Services are deployed using Helm, the Kubernetes package manager, so the same configuration can easily be deployed to multiple environments. For details, see the Helm guide.
